John A. Ogonowski
(February 24, 1951 – September 11, 2001)
John Ogonowski was the pilot on American Airlines Flight 11 to Los Angeles that crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11.
John A. Ogonowski was born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1951. John had a BS Degree in Nuclear Engineering and was an avid farmer.
He was a pilot in the United States Air Force achieving rank of captain. After pilot training his first duty assignment was Charleston AFB SC where he was assigned to the 41st Military Airlift Squadron and flew C-141 aircraft.
Upon leaving the Air Force in 1978 John started flying for American Airlines where he remained for the next 23 years.
